The Sony VENICE 2 is a full-frame workhorse on high-end commercials, drama and features, and it is easy to see why. Its full-frame 8.6K sensor gives you huge resolution, the skin tones Sony is known for, and enough latitude to keep colourists happy in the grade. When a job calls for the best possible image, it is usually near the top of the list.

The feature most people hire it for is Dual Base ISO. It lets you shoot clean images in very different conditions, from bright exteriors to night work, without losing dynamic range or adding noise. The camera records internally to X-OCN, Sony's 16-bit RAW, as well as ProRes, so on most shoots you can skip the external recorder and keep the build compact. A built-in 8-step mechanical ND filter sits behind the sensor, so your assistant can pull exposure quickly without touching the matte box.

It is built for proper cinematography. The VENICE 2 shoots full-frame or Super 35, works natively with spherical and anamorphic glass, and takes the RIALTO 2 extension so you can detach the sensor block for gimbal, Steadicam, underwater and tight spaces. That range makes it as comfortable on a studio drama as on a fast commercial, and a good match for the specialty and rehoused vintage lenses in our range.

We supply the VENICE 2 fully tested and prepped. Every body and lens is checked in our testing and prep facility before it goes out, and you can build and calibrate the camera on site before collection.
