Designed specifically for use with camcorders, DSLR cameras and portable audio recorders, the Rode VideoMic Pro is a great option for your next video shoot.
A half-inch hi-res condenser capsule captures broadcast-quality audio, outputting 2 mono channels via a 3.5mm minijack. The VideoMic Pro features a super-cardioid polar pattern which minimises surrounding sound and allows your recording to be focussed on the subject directly in front of the camera.
To reduce any unwanted rumble or vibrations from external sources the VideoMic Pro has a suspension system to separate the capsule from the camera mount.
On the rear face of the microphone are the power, filter and level controls. The -10dB level attenuation (or PAD) is ideal for recording noisy sound sources, such as live music or interviews where the subject is close to the camera. The +20dB level boost is designed for use when recording audio direct to DSLR, allowing you to reduce the camera's mic-input level, effectively reducing the amount of noise generated by the camera's comparatively low quality audio circuitry.
Powered by a 9V, the VideoMic Pro provides over 70 hours of recording.
